Activists

We partner directly with thousands of activists throughout the Global South- in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East and North Africa—to develop effective advocacy to change laws, raise awareness about their concerns and help make their voices heard where it will do the most good.

Advancing human rights for LGBTIQ people worldwide requires global solidarity and mutual, respectful partnerships. We understand the combinations of identities that lead to discrimination and oppression and we are part of a connected global movement to protect the human rights of everyone, everywhere.

Local LGBTIQ communities know best the problems they face and the solutions to those problems. Over the years, OutRight has become uniquely positioned to act as a bridge to connect our country level partners to regional and international decision makers and influencers. Together we use this access and platform to push a deliberate agenda for change and equality.

For “OutRight Week of Advocacy” at the United Nations, we host a large delegation of LGBTIQ activists from across the world in New York City for meetings with country delegations, agencies and conversations with global media. On International Human Rights Day, December 10th, the United Nations celebrates the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and we ensure that the concerns of LGBTIQ people worldwide are visible and heard.
